It was confirmed by the Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Delta Safe (ODS), on Friday that a militant leader in its custody, Oyawerikumor Peregbabofa, popularly known in the creeks of the Niger Delta as Karaowei, was later killed in an ambush at Bolu Ndoro forest in Bayelsa State. The militant warlord who masterminded the kidnapping and murder of a British missionary, 56-year-old Ian Squire in Enekorogha, Delta state was arrested at the early hours of Thursday in Ogbobagbene. It was gathered that gang members of the militant warlord ambushed the JTF operatives after his arrest and exchanged of gunfire which let the arrested gang leader to make an attempt to escape, he was shot and instantly killed by operatives of "Operation Delta Safe." JTF claimed that Karowei who was arrested confessed to several criminal acts and led troops to his camp to recover the cache of arms and ammunition in his possession as well as to persuade other members of his gang to surrender. N-Power reopens portal for applicants to check ON NOVEMBER 21, 20177:34
Applicants for the 2017 N-Power can now start checking their pre-selection status on the portal, www.npower.gov.ng/n-power/check. In the bid to create employment for the unemployed graduates the Federal Government created N-Power to employ 300,000 people. N-Power has therefore reopened its portal on Monday night to the applicants. N-Power Newsmen gathered that applicants can check their status either with their phone number or Bank Verification Number, BVN. A statement from the N-power official Facebook page read: “You will recall that we shared that 2017 applicants can check their pre-selection status today (Monday) from 11.30pm. “Below is how to check your pre-selection status.” Log on to www.npower.gov.ng Click on ‘Check your pre-selection status’ In the search box, type in your name or phone number or Email address or BVN If you have been selected, your name will pop up You will receive an SMS and email congratulating on your pre-selection Next, you prepare for physical verification between November 27th-December 8th, 2017 On its official Twitter handle, @npower ng, N-Power provided call lines and advised applicants to call in if they have issues.
