Yesterday, the Bayelsa entertainment industry led by the Honourable Special Assistant on entertainment and culture – Hon. Asu Ekiye carried out a successful interactive session with the indigenous artists in Bayelsa, on different facet of the industry. The programme which took place at Ayalla Hotel Yenagoa invited Who Is Who in the industry and lots of critical issues surrounding the industry where deliberated for the betterment of the industry. In a speech issued by the convener, he pointed out that he saw the need for this interactive session, because the time has come to shift this paradigm to a more beneficial way, the industry is growing and all hands need to be on deck to revamp the industry. And as such, entertainers need to be awarded on their efforts; more platforms need to be created to boost the entertainment spirit among us. On this note, Mr Famous (organizer of Bayelsa Movie Festival Awards) expressed his grievance on the government for not supporting indigenous event rather spending huge amount on AMA awards and other event. A Musical artiste/ OAP Yawng Boss made a point, that the value been placed on artists are very minimal in the sense that, artists here are not been celebrated and appreciated. Artists are not paid as required and the value been placed on them is too embarrassing. To wrap it up, the convener also commended all the artistes who made it possible to come for the interactive session and thanked all those who shares views on how to develop the industry. He promised to take all the suggestions to the Governor, by compelling him to develop tourism, culture and entertainment. for more updates follow us.
